Why did you choose UMass Dartmouth/CVPA to begin with?
Three reasons: UMass Dartmouth had a historical reputation of a strong, vibrant graduate ceramics Program graduating many leaders in the ceramic field; the arts faculty; and the outstanding facilities including the necessary array of kilns and glaze experimentation to support full artistic development.
What you have lost thus far, educationally, creatively, personally?
I have lost time - time that has become consumed with uncertainty about where and how to work - and no place to continue my studio practice which is central to this educational experience.
I lost time to make an informed choice - I was committed to a lease for housing in the South Coast, had leased out both my home and studio on the other side of the country - I was left with no other place to live or way to shift directions in response to the shocking news that UMassDartmouth could not keep its commitment to my graduate education.
I lost the opportunity to go to another graduate university as I now have over half of my credits ( non-transferable) here at UMassDartmouth. This represents a large investment of time, focus and finances.
